Hearth Circles: Which is the best fit for you?

At The Hearth, every gathering is a Circle, where we come together and share our lived experience on the topics that shape our daily lives.

From menopause and cycle awareness, to neurodivergence or grief, we hold ‘Hearth Circles’ to create space for everyone’s journey, wherever they are at. Where we can each share our journeys and learn from the wisdom of lived experience.

What are Hearth Circles?

Circles are at the heart of everything we do at The Hearth.

Offering a safe space for peer-to-peer sharing, Hearth Circles are all about gathering in community and being guided by the wisdom of the lived experience.

How Hearth Circles work?

At The Hearth we have a programme of 14 Hearth Circles running every month. Each Circle is structured around a central theme, such as Neurodivergence, Menopause, Death or Creativity. Circles are facilitated by someone who shares both an interest in and knowledge of the subject, and who is often on the journey themselves.

Sessions typically follow a three part structure: a check-in, hot seat topic and goal setting.

1. The Check-In:

The session starts with each attendee introducing themselves, their name, what they do, or anything they feel comfortable sharing. Then, each participant can briefly share:

  • Highs (recent wins, positives)

  • Lows (challenges, struggles)

  • Their Needs (what they’re hoping to get from the session)

This stage helps surface common themes and sets the tone for the rest of the session.

2. The Hot Seat Topic:

This is the heart of the Circle. A central theme will usually emerge naturally during the check-in as participants express what they need. If no clear theme arises, the host can gently guide the conversation using their knowledge of the broader topic.

Open dialogue, reflection and shared insights are encouraged, with space for every participant to contribute.

3. Accountability:

Before wrapping up, everyone is invited to state one small goal they want to work on before the next Circle.

Circle Boundaries

To help maintain the safety and integrity of the space, we ask that all participants:

  • Honours confidentiality. What you hear here and who you see here, remains only in the space.

  • Speaks and listens with kindness and respect. Share only from personal experience, no advice-giving or judgment.

  • Respect that everyone is on a different part of their journey. We hold each person's experience with care and compassion.

Who can get involved?

Hearth Circles are included in the Hearth Membership, and open to our wider community, so there's always a place for you at the table. Many of our Circles are open to women only; however, some — such as the Death Café, open to all, and Man to Man, open to men only — are not. Each Circle listing tells you who it's for.

You can discover our upcoming Hearth Circles on our events page and sign-up on our Eventbrite. Haven't been to a Circle before? We'd love to invite you to experience our Circles, use the code HEARTHTOKEN when checking out.
