Supper Club hosted by guest chef Elainea Emmott

We are delighted to bring our events programme back to life and this month sees the first of our Supper Club series ‘Home Cooked at The Hearth’ hosted by guest chef Elainea Emmott. Inspired by Caribbean and African flavours, Elainea’s unique style of cooking is inventive, colourful and uses smoke and fire to create powerful tastes and textures.

Starter

Smokey tempeh wraps with a tomato and plantain mix and a fiery scotch bonnet

Main course

Sweet potato gnocchi with an ackee and tomato sauce

Dessert

Passionfruit and mango ‘Snow Eggs’ – fluffy meringue served with rum balls and almond cloud crumb

Last year Elainea appeared on the Netflix series ‘Crazy Delicious ‘ where Heston Blumenthal described her food as ‘Michelin Star. As a Queen’s Park local and friend of The Hearth, Elainea will be cooking and hosting this neighbourhood event alongside her son Wesley.

Not only does Elainea put her heart and soul into cooking, but she is also a Food Writer and Activist Photographer. Her work reflects her commitment to Diversity and Inclusion and some of the key causes and events she has covered include Black Lives Matter, UK BlackPRide, Women’s March London and Women for refugee Women.

Elainea’s choice of dessert for The Hearth event is a dish inspired by James Hemings who was the first American to train as a chef in France. Hemings was born in 1765 and became enslaved at the age of just 8 years old.

Elainea cooks with her son, Wesley, and they both model for Zebedee Talent and Model Agency, the world’s leading supplier of models with disabilities and alternative appearances. They are also both ambassadors for The National Autistic Society.
