Join us this July for a special evening with Hearth member and ukulelist-in-residence, Erin Hunter, as she returns to preview her new Camden Fringe show, Burn Baby Burn: LA Inferno. She’ll be joined by Kristin Duffy, producer-director and advocate for women in film and theatre who is directing the show and producing it through her company, Slackline Productions.
Together, Erin and Kristin will invite us into their creative process, sharing excerpts from the show, behind-the-scenes insights, and a candid conversation about making theatre that burns bright with purpose. Expect an evening of honest reflections on collaboration, climate, and carving out space for women’s voices in the arts. There’ll be time for open discussion, questions, and plenty of bellinis to go around.
Burn Baby Burn: LA Inferno is Erin’s response to her parents losing their home and all of their possessions in LA’s recent wildfires. It’s a stripped-back, sharp-witted mix of storytelling, satire, and songs, exploring the human cost of climate change and the humans fanning the flames. Asking questions that nobody wants to answer like: why was LA’s biggest reservoir empty? What the hell is a ‘firenado’? And just how quickly will you be cancelled for posting a ‘fire selfie’?
This is a night for creatives, climate-thinkers, and anyone who loves their theatre with a spark. Come sip, listen, and gather around our Hearth.
