Gujarati Supperclub

Tickets: £50 General Admission

About The Event

Vegetarian Brown Girls is a mother/daughter supper club serving Gujarati home cooking with a modern twist. At The Hearth, Priya and Sudha will share family recipes passed down through generations, presented in a way that brings Gujarati food into the spotlight at a level rarely seen in London.
On arrival - canapés

  • Thepla with whipped feta and blueberry chundo
Thepla is a soft, spiced flatbread from Gujarat. We’d serve it topped with a light feta whip and blueberry chundo (a sweet-spicy chutney).

  • Sabudana papad with spiced topping
Fried wafers made from tapioca pearls, topped with chaat masala, cucumber, tomato, raw mango, pomegranate, red chilli, coriander and lime pickled onions.

  • Fried rotlis with smoky oro and nigella seeds
Rotli is a soft wheat flatbread; here we fry it until crisp and serve with oro, a smoky roasted aubergine dip, finished with nigella seeds.

Individual crisp chaat (cold)

  • A fun take on a street food snack: bags of crisps opened up and layered with boiled potatoes, black chickpeas, red onion, roasted peanuts, fresh coriander, coriander chutney, tamarind chutney, yoghurt, sev (crispy chickpea noodles), and pomegranate seeds.

Sharing plates

  • Corn on the cob in a peanut and tomato sauce with pistachios

  • Confit baby potatoes in date and tamarind molasses

  • Paneer wraps with apple, ginger and coriander

  • Chilled kadhi with khichdi croquettes – Kadhi is a cooling yoghurt-based soup. We serve it chilled with crispy golden croquettes made from khichdi which are rice/lentils

Dessert

  • Kaju katli served with pistachios and almonds – A traditional cashew fudge

  • MAJI chilled chai

The evening starts at 7pm and tickets are £50 per person with the option to buy drinks at the venue.
